Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This policy explains how Sentinel Command uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the platform. We use cookies only for essential operational and security purposes — never for advertising or behavioral tracking.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website or use a web application. They allow the application to remember information about your session, preferences, and activity.
Sentinel Command uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and session storage) to operate the platform, maintain your login session, and remember your preferences.
2. How We Use Cookies
Sentinel Command uses cookies strictly for operational purposes. We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioral tracking, or third-party analytics.
Our use of cookies falls into the following categories:
**Essential / Functional Cookies**
These cookies are required for the platform to function. They include:
• Session authentication tokens that keep you logged in during your session
• Trusted device tokens that allow you to skip MFA on recognized devices (30-day expiration)
• User preference data such as widget layout, navigation order, and notification settings
**Security Cookies**
These cookies support the platform's security features, including:
• CSRF protection tokens
• Session integrity verification
• Account lockout state tracking
Without these cookies, the platform cannot function securely.
3. Local Storage
In addition to cookies, Sentinel Command uses browser local storage for certain preferences, including:
• Your agency ID on the agency login portal (if you choose "Remember this agency")
• Dashboard widget layout and pin state
• Navigation order preferences
Local storage data is stored on your device and is not transmitted to our servers except as part of normal API requests. You can clear local storage through your browser settings.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Sentinel Command does not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not share cookie data with advertising networks or data brokers.
Our platform may use Firebase services for push notification delivery. Firebase may set its own cookies or use device identifiers for notification routing. These are governed by Google's privacy policy and are used solely for delivering platform notifications to your device.
5. Cookie Duration
• **Session cookies**: Expire when you close your browser or after your configured session timeout (default: 20 minutes of inactivity)
• **Trusted device tokens**: Expire after 30 days
• **Preference data**: Stored until you clear your browser data or change your preferences
• **Agency ID (local storage)**: Stored until you uncheck "Remember this agency" or clear browser data
6. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
• View cookies stored by websites
• Delete individual cookies or all cookies
• Block cookies from specific websites
• Block all third-party cookies
Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent the Sentinel Command platform from functioning correctly. You will not be able to log in or maintain a session without session cookies enabled.
To clear your agency ID from local storage, uncheck "Remember this agency" on the agency login page, or clear your browser's local storage through your browser settings.
7. Changes to This Policy
Sentinel Command may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to agency administrators. Continued use of the platform following notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
